Abstract

In this article, the author reveals a connection between systemic discrimination in the Canadian criminal justice system and the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal people in the system. The injustices faced by Aboriginals are partially attributed to the one-dimensional value system (that of the British Crown) on which the Canadian justice system is based. There is seen a fundamental conflict between the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal concepts of justice
